Thames Rowing Club Wedding

The Thames Rowing Club was founded in the 19th century. Intimately located on the banks of the Thames river, it is the place to be if you enjoy a Saturday morning riverside stroll, watching the sporty rowing teams exercise... and if you are looking to get married in an ‘off the beaten track’ London setting.

Meg and Doug

One of the reasons why we love our job is getting to know the wonderful couples and hearing their story. We observe, listen and suggest a floral vision that will seamlessly incorporate with their wedding. This is also why we like to meet the couple not only once, during the initial consultation process, but often at the venue. During the second meeting at Thames Rowing Club, we discussed some changes and made a few suggestions that would lift the experience, such as table layout, colour schemes for linens, and extra decorative elements.

Colour Palette

The event hall is adorned with pictures and historical items that tell the story of the Thames Rowing Club. It truly feels like you were by the sea in a period seaside cottage. The presence of dark aged wood, as well as Meg’s personal preferences set a basis for the colour palette.

The chosen colours were soft creams, pinks, pastel purples and blues.

The Designs

The dinner tables were dressed with soft light pink linens. Each table was decorated with jovial arrangements composed of clematis, David Austin roses, scabiosas, irises, amaranthus, jasmine, phlox and other flowers. Single stems of flowers were also placed in small glass containers and dotted around the tables thus creating happy little splashes of colours and textures that connected the centrepieces. Tea lights were finally placed in harmonious fashion around the flowers to create a final intimate touch.

Another main piece of this Thames Rowing Club wedding was the lush low arrangement which served to create a focal point on the couples table and celebrated their union with a natural and lush forest of colour.

After the wedding, Meg and Doug said:

"We couldn’t fault anything about Blooming Haus. From the first meeting we knew that everything was going to look so beautiful and we were definitely right. The flowers were the most beautiful we’ve ever seen and all our guests commented on how they amazing they looked. The guys made the whole process so easy and we had full trust in their designs. We would 100% recommend Blooming Haus!"
